(WXYZ) - A Michigan girl will appear on national television to talk about how she ended up on top after a horrifying bullying incident.

Katie Couric will have West Branch teen Whitney Kropp on her talk show Tuesday.

After years of being bullied the 16-year-old was excited to be named to the homecoming court at Ogemaw Heights High School.

But it was all part of a prank to humiliate her and she still doesn't understand why.

The whole incident turned into a celebration on Friday when the town rallied around her. She got a new dress, a new look and a stretch limo all donated by strangers.

Whitney told Katie her bullies should feel ashamed of themselves.

Whitney's mom told Katie after watching the pain her daughter went through she did not want the school to investigate to find the bullies, because she did not want them negatively impacted either.
