EAST LANSING, Mich. (WXYZ) - A lansing-area man suspected of burning a Quran at the entrance of a Michigan Mosque turned himself into police Thursday.
The Muslim holy book was torched and left outside the Islamic Center of East Lansing on the anniversary of the 9/11 Terrorist Attacks. Police also say torn pages of the Quran appeared to be smeared with feces. An unidentified substance was also found on the floor in front of the mosque's main door.
Investigators say the man turned himself in after they posted a $10,000 reward for his capture.
He is now under investigation for a possible hate crime.
