(WXYZ) - A girl is suffering from minor injuries after jumping out of a moving car on I-94 Thursday afternoon.
It happened near Mt. Elliott around 1:15 p.m according to Michigan State Troopers.
Investigators say a mother was traveling eastbound on the freeway when the 8-year-old unbuckled her seatbelt and climbed out of the vehicle.
Nearby drivers honked their horn to alert the mom and she pulled over on the highway.
The child was taken to Children’s Hospital in Detroit to be check out.
The mother was interview by state police and will not face any charges. State troopers handed the case over to Child Protective Services.
The case is now under investigation by CPS.
It is believed the girl suffers from mental issues.
