(WXYZ) - The struggling Detroit Fire Department dwindling in size will be getting some help.
A flyer that was posted on a city website and has since been circulating on Facebook says the City of Detroit is looking for some new firefighters to start training by the end of the year.
The city flyer says recruiting will start August 19. It also says salaries start at just over $29K and recruits will start training at the end of the year.
Firefighters, thrilled with the prospect of new people and residents say they are happy to hear some good news in the city for a change.
They say their department has been dwindling in size and as firefighters retire they need more and more help.
