(WXYZ) - A company is recalling dog treats that could be contaminated with salmonella.

If you have “Natures Recipe Over Baked Biscuits with Real Chicken,” don't give them to your dog.

The company says that the treats were manufactured in Topeka, Kansas, but adds that they have not received reports of pets or humans getting sick. People may become ill after handling the product.

The recall is precautionary.

The treats were sold in 19-ounce resealable pouches and have a best if used by date stamp of 10-11-13 and 10-12-13.

Some of the symptoms of salmonella in pets include: fever, shock, lethargy, diarrhea, vomiting, weight loss, dehydration, skin disease and an abnormally fast heart rate.
