DEARBORN HEIGHTS, Mich. (WXYZ) - Firefighters in Dearborn Heights rescued a baby kitten from the wheel well of a vehicle Monday after the driver heard meowing coming from her car and stopped to ask them for help.
Dearborn Heights firefighter Mike Beer and Fire Inspector Sean Payne checked underneath the hood before pinpointing a spot near the front right fender where they thought the kitten might be stuck.
They removed the tire and Beer was able to reach into the wheel well of the car and snag the baby kitten near the steering column.
The firefighters say the kitten is around 3-weeks-old.
“He’s ready for a bath, that’s for sure,” joked Payne after the rescue.
A Dearborn Heights firefighter has since offered to adopt the kitten.
