DEARBORN HEIGHTS, Mich. (WXYZ) - "The military family is very close together and we're always finding ways to take care of each other" says the co-owner of Miracle Wedding Village Denise Crank who found a unique way to give back this Veterans Day.
Any bride-to-be or her fiance that are being deployed can come into the shop on the day of honor and receive a free wedding dress of their choice.
"I obviously love weddings and I love our veterans so I joined with an organization called Brides Across America and combined both my passions to give back," says Denise.
It will be first come first serve to receive a dress free of charge, because Denise already knows first hand what a hefty price it is to pay to have your loved ones go to war.
Her little brother is a Marine, and left Halloween night for his second tour of duty in Afghanistan.
"I always have to hold back my tears when I talk about my brother being gone," she says. "We’re very close."
Any soldier who is planning a wedding and has paperwork proving their deployment can stop into the Miracle Wedding Shop on West Warren in Dearborn Heights between Noon and 6:00 p.m. Friday and until 4:00 p.m. on Saturday to get a dress.
