(WXYZ) - Democrats across the state are speaking out against an emergency financial manager for Detroit, calling it a "hostile take over.”
City and county officials from Michigan sounded off in a state Democratic Party conference call, asking Governor Snyder to stop the emergency financial management of Detroit.
The governor appointed attorney Kevyn Orr last week.
They want Snyder to work with city leaders already in place.
The latest Michigan city considering a consent agreement from the state is Lansing, which is facing a $9-million deficit at the end of the fiscal year.
