(WXYZ) - Detroit Emergency Manager Kevyn Orr will become a tour guide on Wednesday night, showing Wall Street Creditors the story beyond the numbers.
Detroit faces a $17 billion deficit. Creditors are being asked to take 10 cents on the dollar in concessions. If agreements are not made in the next few months, Detroit could become the largest Chapter 9 Municipal Bankruptcy in history.
The bus tour will include Gratiot Aveune and a view of Detroit residential neighborhoods.
Detroit has 30,000 buildings on the dangerous list for demolition. Some streets are home to only illegal dumping.
Tens of thousands of Detroit residents ride the bus because that's all they can afford. Many love the city, but many are stuck and can't afford to move.
On dozens of streets, only one house is occupied and surrounded by blight, crime and memories.
