DETROIT (WXYZ) - Detroit's Emergency Manager Kevyn Orr has approved the 2014 fiscal year budget.
City Council approved the $1 billion budget last month.
Orr and his restructuring team have been meeting with creditors, city pension officials, unions, retirees and bond holders as of late.
He's looking for concessions to keep the city from going into bankruptcy.
Detroit's budget deficit is believed to be about $380 million. The city is about 17 billion in debt.
