DETROIT, MICH (WXYZ) - The Baseball Season may be over, but the Detroit Tigers are not resting.
Today, the team exercised its options on a couple of players for next year. You'll be seeing pitcher Octavio Dotel and shortstop Jhonny Peralta on the team roster in the spring.
The right-handed Dotel played 57 games for us this year and with a record 5-3, an ERA of 3.57, striking out 62. During the playoffs, he didn't allow a single run during 5 innings and the 6 times he was on the mound.
Infielder Peralta was .239 hitting 32 doubles, 3 triples, and 13 home runs. He had 63 RBIs in 150 games this year. He placed second among all American League shortstops posting a .988 fielding percentage. In the playoffs, he gave us 5 RBIs in 13 games.
