DETROIT (WXYZ) - DLH Printing had only been at the corner of 7 Mile and Stahelin for about 2 months, but the owner - Darius Hooper - says business was picking up.
The business suffered a major setback Wednesday morning after an early morning fire and explosion destroyed it.
At this point it's unclear if the fire caused the explosion or if it was the other way around. What is certain; 12 people are without jobs just weeks before Christmas.
While Hooper is confident his insurance will allow him to rebuild, it won't be in time to help his workers in the immediate future. Insurance also won't be able to replace the pictures and personal effects customers have entrusted him with.
A large portion of his business comes from producing t-shirts and other materials for family reunions and funerals.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
