BIRMINGHAM, Mich. (WXYZ) - A massive new tree in the heart of Birmingham is generating a spirited debate this holiday season.

In years past, the city decorated a live tree in Shain Park, but critics say it wasn't very attractive, some even called it a Charlie Brown tree.

So now there's a perfect, $30,000 artificial tree to take its place as the center of attention.

The tree lighting ceremony in Shain Park is set for 6 p.m. on Wednesday.

Which do you prefer? A fake tree or real tree?
