(WXYZ) - Oakland County is showing off the new logo and mascot for this year's Fire and Ice Festival in downtown Rochester the weekend of January 25.
All kinds of family fun is on tap, from ice carving to tube sledding and even fireworks.
“We expect this to be the best Fire & Ice we’ve ever had,” Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson said in a news release. “Last year Mother Nature threw us a curve with some warm weather but we’re hopeful this year we’ll have everything we need for a wonderful celebration of winter in downtown Rochester.”
Right now, there's a contest to name the new penguin mascot. Everyone who submits a name will also have a chance to win a $50 gift certificate to use in downtown Rochester.
The top three names will then be voted on during the festival and announced on January 26 before the firework show at 8 p.m.
