TAYLOR, Mich. (WXYZ) - A mix of a hot fire and gases caused the roof of an apartment building in Taylor to collapse.

Firefighters are still working to put out hot spots at the Park Place Apartments and the fire chief says several fire departments arrived on the scene to help.

Sources tell us one woman was treated for smoke inhalation, but is expected to recover.

The Red Cross of Southeastern Michigan is providing financial assistance for food and clothing, according to a release.

The city of Taylor has also opened a shelter for residents.
