(WXYZ) - A fire in Oak Park has engulfed a decades-old church at Coolidge and Northfield.
Fire crews were on the scene at the First Baptist Church of Oak Park. The head deacon says about 100 members belong to the church.
As the church burned late Friday, members were consoling each other, devastated after the loss.
Witnesses tell 7 Action News that the fire started after 8 p.m. and the flames spread through the structure quickly.
