WEST BLOOMFIELD, Mich. (WXYZ) - The 16-year-old football player from West Bloomfield High School, accused of striking a 66-year-old coach, has been charged with assault and battery.

The player from West Bloomfield High School was suspended after he allegedly sucker punched a coach on the Stoney Creek High School team last week.

The student's name isn't being released, but he was charged in juvenile court Thursday.
