(WXYZ) - After fighting for his life, 2-year-old Damian Sutton lost his battle.
On Tuesday night, a fundraiser was held to help the family.
People came out to the Younger's Irish Tavern in Romeo to support Damian's family and friends. Donations were taken to help cover the cost of Damian's funeral and to raise money for child abuse prevention.
"He knows I love him," said Damian's aunt Angela Thompson. "And before he went to Children's he squeezed my hand, so like looked at me in my eyes. I'm just happy I got to have that moment with him."
Prosecutors say the boyfriend of Damian's mother shook the young boy.
On Tuesday, the judge revoked Ronald Dimambro's bond.
The Macomb County prosecutor says the 26-year-old will likely be charged with murder, after the county receives the report from the medical examiner.
That could happen as early as this week.
