Gas fireplace inserts recalled due to shock and burn hazard

(WXYZ) - About 1,200 gas fireplace inserts are being recalled in the United States due to shock and burn hazards they pose to consumers.

Jotul and Scan gas fireplace inserts manufactured by Jotul North American of Gorham, Maine, were sold at specialty fireplace and stove stores across the country from June 2010 through September 2012.

The inserts are cast iron or steel and have a glass front. The model numbers included in the recall are:
