NORTHVILLE TWP., Mich. (WXYZ) - Crews for Consumers Energy were called out to the scene of a gas leak at a construction site in Northville Township.
A construction crew reportedly struck a 2-inch gas main in a subdivision on Pine Valley Drive.
Consumers Energy says an excavator hit the main while digging a basement for a new home.
There was also an electric line for DTE. Consumers Energy says they will need to wait until DTE shuts power off to make repairs. They are expecting the leak to be capped around 2:30 p.m.
One woman who lives next door was asked to leave until the gas could be shut off.
There were no other evacuations.
