(WXYZ) -

Gas prices may be on the slide and they might keep skidding until we see the cost hovering around $3 a gallon.

According to Michael Evans of Atlas Oil drivers will likely pay less at the pump in the coming weeks because of a number of factors.

First, local and national refineries are back online, which brings costs down. Also, there is relative less turmoil in places like Iran and Iraq, and last but not least the peak-driving season is over.

Combine all of those factors and the pinch at the pump may not feel so bad, at least for the short-term.
