(WXYZ) - Lutheran Adoption Services is working to find homes for dozens of children this holiday season.

Many of the children who are in need of loving parents are school-aged kids (nine years old or older) or are siblings who need to stay together.

Lutheran Adoption Services is the largest state ward adoption agency in the state. It currently provides services for more than 500 children in the foster care system.

You don't have to be married to adopt a child. Divorced and single-parent households can also adopt.

There is no requirement of wealth, home ownership or education to adopt a child.

For information on adopting through Lutheran Adoption Services, call (877) 643-1615 or visit the organization's website by clicking here .
