(DETROIT) - A pickup truck driver led police on a high speed chase Wednesday morning before crashing into a pole and taking off on foot.

The chase began in Lincoln park and ended around Bassett and Pleasant Streets in southwest Detroit.

That's near I-75 and Coolidge Highway.

Chopper 7 was over the scene during the police pursuit, which included multiple departments.

When the driver crashed, he jumped out of the vehicle and started running.

It's not clear whether police were able to apprehend him.
