(WXYZ) - If you filed your federal taxes early, but are still waiting on your refund, it could be another week.
The IRS is emailing tax professionals to alert them about a delay in refunds.
The agency says some refunds will take longer to arrive because its "fine-tuning" some of its systems.
The email says the agency is also conducting additional screening for fraud this year, which could also play a role in the delay.
If you used the "Where's My Refund" tool on the IRS website, you can expect to receive your refund about a week later than the date that was given.
