(WXYZ) - It's the final showdown: Running backs Barry Sanders and Adrian Peterson are the last men in the running for the "Madden 25" cover.
The winner will be announced on ESPN2 on April 24 at 8 p.m.
For the second straight year, one of the Detroit Lions best all-time players is a finalist in the vote for the cover of the Madden NFL video game.
This year's game is the 25th edition of the uber-popular game, and the Hall of Famer vs. present day star is reflective of EA Sports' celebration of legends and current players.
Sanders squeaked by Jerry Rice in the semifinal vote, after besting Joe Montana and Ray Lewis in the previous weeks. Peterson topped Houston Texans running back Arian Foster in his semifinal matchup.
The vote has become an annual tradition in the spring leading up to football season, run by ESPN and their SportsNation show.
