Detroit, Mich. (WXYZ) Detroit police are investigating why a man brought a grenade into a Sunoco gas station on Mt. Elliot near I-94.
 
Police say a man with mental problems came into the gas station Saturday in his underwear. He had a grenade and making threats.

Officers responded quickly and were able to wrestle the grenade from the man. 

The Detroit Bomb Squad detonated the grenade in a field.
