Southfield (WXYZ) - Crowds of teenagers hanging out in Birmingham are raising concerns about the potential for trouble in the streets.
You may see more police patrols on downtown Birmingham streets after a few weekends of problems with teenagers. Downtown Birmingham has always been a draw for young people but it is reportedly getting out of hand, and in some cases turning dangerous.
Some longtime residents say they are reluctant to walk the main streets in downtown after a few reported problems with teenagers.
Action News cameras were rolling as the streets became more crowded with teenagers Friday night.
Of course, Birmingham Police say hanging out in downtown is not a crime, but they say if crowds get too big or rowdy they will hand out tickets for disorderly conduct.
