DETROIT (WXYZ) - Wayne County Circuit Court Judge Wade McCree who was reprimanded for sending shirtless pictures to a court bailiff is in more trouble.

Geniene LaShay Mott says on her Facebook page that she had a relationship with Judge McCree. The relationship happened while Mott was before McCree on a case in which the judge sent her ex-boyfriend to jail for back child support.

The ex-boyfriend confirmed to 7 Action News that he saw romantic text messages between Mott and Decree while his case was being heard.

Legal experts say it is a clear conflict of interest for a judge to have a relationship with someone who has a case before them. Just before word of this relationship leaked out, in a strange twist, McCree filed a stalking complaint with the Wayne County Prosecutor’s office against Mott. But on Friday, the prosecutor’s office said that no criminal action would be taken against Mott and referred the whole matter to the judicial tenure commission.

7 Action News was unable to reach Mott for comment and McCree did not return our phone message and was not in court on Friday.

The head of the Federal Defenders office has a unique idea for the judge in Bobby Ferguson’s upcoming bid rigging trial: don’t make him say under oath if he still has assets, give him a lawyer, and if the feds scrounge up more of the former contractor’s cash in the future – pay the taxpayers back.
