(WXYZ) - Action News Investigators have uncovered new information into the public corruption investigation involving Romulus Mayor Alan Lambert.
According to sources, Michigan State Police investigators have been asking questions about Lambert's campaign finances. State police investigators want to know about the money and if all the contributions are being accounted for.
We've also learned, police are looking into the mayor's Florida condo on Marco Island. Florida property records show Lambert and his wife purchased the property in 2010 for $265,000. Since the investigation became public, council members voted for Lambert to resign his position as mayor. City council members have been cooperating with Michigan State Police in the investigation. Lambert did not return our calls for comment. The Michigan Stat Police tell 7 Action News they do not comment on current investigations.
