(WXYZ) DETROIT - Today the Wayne County board of elections approved the ballot language that could remove Wayne County Executive Robert Ficano from office.
It's the first step in a recall effort started by Plymouth attorney Rick Convertino, but it's far from a done deal.
Before recalling Ficano can even be put on a ballot, Convertino needs to collect 160,000 signatures from Wayne County residents.
This is the second push to have Ficano recalled: Convertino's first effort failed, but he promises this one will be different.
He says his team plans to hire one-thousand poll workers to collect signatures: they say they'll do it by getting donations through a website, recallficano.com , and social media campaigns. Convertino is also running for a seat on the Wayne County Commission.
Today Robert Ficano said in a statement that Convertino is just trying to use the recall effort for free publicity, and says he's committed to moving the county forward

In Wayne County, scores of convicted felons guilty of dangerous crimes are being given what critics say is a get out of jail free card. Are the judges letting them out violating Michigan's penal code?
