Ann Arbor selected as the nation's best city for singles

(WXYZ) - If you are looking for love on this Valentine's Day, it may be just a stone's throw away. A recent study finds that Ann Arbor is the best city, in America, for singles.

Kiplinger's Personal Finance rated cities based on average income and the cost of living.

It also figured in the average cost of a "date", including two movie tickets and a bottle of wine.

The survey only considered cities where more than half of the households are single. Most of the top rated towns feature big universities.

Ann Arbor leads the list coming in at  #1.

Bloomington, Illinois, comes in at second. Santa Cruz, Baltimore and Los Angeles round out the top five. Other cities in the top ten include Iowa City, New York and Philadelphia.
