(WXYZ) - During the dog days of summer, an eight-year-old in Kentucky raised money to buy his dog a wheel chair.
The dog -- nine-year-old Casious -- was diagnosed with Degenerative myelopathy last fall after he tumbled down a flight of stairs.
Since Ryder McConathy considers the boxer to be like one of his brothers, he knew he had to do something to help Casious get around.
That's when he decided to hold a fundraiser.
Ryder raised $315 by selling cartoon and Lego key chains and magnets.
Casious is now back up and running again with the help of his new rear wheels. Ryder donated the money left over to the humane society.
