Movember sprouts mustaches, raises men's health awareness around metro Detroit

(WXYZ) - Have you seen a number of sprouting mustaches around metro Detroit?

There's a reason your yoga instructor looks like Tom Selleck in Mangnum P.I. We should warn you now - as the month progresses he will more closely resemble Friedrich Nietzsche .

For that we have Movember to thank.

During the month of November each year the Movember movement is responsible for mustache growth on thousands of faces in the US and around the world.

The goal is to raise awareness and funds for men's health issues; specifically prostate and testicular cancer initiatives.

As their cheese-staches develops into sturdy handlebars, the men of Movember become walking billboards for the cause, sparking conversations and raising awareness and funds wherever they go.
