(WXYZ) - A new study says it is no safer to use a voice-to-text app while driving than it is to send texts manually.
The study by the Texas Transportation institute conducted the test on drivers 16 to 60 years old.
The tests showed driver response times are twice as slow while texting using either method.
It's the first research on whether there are safety advantage to using voice-to-text apps.
