(WXYZ) - Yisrael Pinson of West Bloomfield was shopping for dinner ingredients when he found something that caught his eye: An eggplant shaped like Michigan's Lower Peninsula.
"You're not going to believe what I just found," Yisrael said to his friend at Farm Fresh in Oak Park.
Yisrael took pictures of the eggplant and posted it on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook. Governor Rick Snyder even retweeted his find.
The governor tweeted: "All it needs is the UP!"
Yisrael had plans to preserve the eggplant, but after his wife told him she needed it to prepare eggplant Parmesan, he decided to let it go.
But it turns out to be the Michigan-shaped eggplant that just keeps on giving.
After Yisrael's wife took the eggplant parmesan out of the oven, they found another surprise. If you look closely, there's an outline of the Lower Peninsula in the dish.
