Man hit, killed while crossing street on motorized scooter in Detroit

(WXYZ) - Detroit police say a man was hit and killed while crossing the street on a motorized scooter on Gratiot just south of 7 Mile Road.
The incident happened around 6 p.m. and, police say, the man was not crossing at a crosswalk.
The victim was taken to St. John Hospital, but was later pronounced dead, according to police.
