(WXYZ) - Call it a wager between friends.
Detroit Mayor Dave Bing and Emergency Manager Kevyn Orr are rooting for different teams in the NCAA Final Four game between Syracuse University and the University of Michigan.
Bing is a Syracuse alum. When he went to school at Syracuse University, he was a teammate of the current Syracuse basketball coach Jim Boeheim.
Bing plans to attend the Final Four game in Atlanta.
“I’m hopeful Syracuse is going to win. Then I’ll be coming back, I’m sure, for the championship game,” the Mayor said.
Not so fast, Mayor Bing. Orr is betting on U of M to advance to the NCAA championship. He's a Michigan alum.
Bing says the loser of the wager will have to buy dinner for the winner at a restaurant in Detroit.
