Pair won silver medal at 2010 Olympic Winter Games

SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) - Michigan athletes Meryl Davis and Charlie White sambaed their way into the dance lead at the U.S. Figure Skating Championships on Friday.

They scored 76.89 in the short dance, more than four points ahead of second-place sibling team Maia and Alex Shibutani of Ann Arbor.

It was also well ahead of what anyone scored this week at the European championships.

Davis and White train at the Arctic Figure Skating Club in Canton.

Madison Hubbell and Zachary Donohue were a distant third with 57.56. The free dance is on Sunday.

Many of the ice dancing competitors are from Michigan. Here are the complete short dance results:
