(WXYZ) - If you were planning on playing the daily lotto numbers 1111 on this 11-11 date, you're out of luck!
The Michigan Lottery Commission confirms that sales for the numbers have been stopped for Daily 4 purchases. The Daily 3 numbers 111 have not been halted.
Action News checked on this after a complaint by a lotto player who says they have been playing 1111 for several months, but were told that they could not play the numbers today.
The Michigan Lottery released the following statement to explain why ticket sales were stopped.
"The Lottery has a liability cap of $40 million on the Daily 4. Once the sales of a particular number reach the level that would require a $40 million payout if that number was drawn, sales for that number automatically stop. This ensures the Lottery can fulfill its primary mission, to generate revenue for the School Aid Fund."
