WXYZ (Southfield, MI) - Time is running out to bid for a piece of Michigan.
The Michigan Department of Natural Resources says a sealed-bid auction of 25 parcels of state-owned land will close on September 4.
The parcels total 315 acres and are located in nine counties: Alpena, Arenac, Gladwin, Lake, Montmorency, Muskegon, Otsego, Presque Isle and Saginaw. The properties range in size from less than an acre to 40 acres.
The sale began Aug. 7 and ends at midnight Wednesday. Sealed bids must be postmarked by midnight Sept. 4, and will be opened Sept. 25.
Officials say the parcels are tax-reverted properties that are isolated from other land that the DNR manages.
Details about each parcel can be found here: http://www.michigan.gov/landforsale .
