DETROIT (WXYZ) - The Michigan Humane Society is offering a $2500 reward for information that leads to an arrest and conviction of the person responsible for allegedly attacking a dog with a machete.
A tip came into the Michigan Humane Society from a concerned neighbor who reported that a black Labrador mix was found with multiple serious lacerations on the 7300 block of St. Mary's Street in Detroit.
Michigan Humane Society Cruelty Investigators responded to the scene and rushed the dog to the Detroit Center for Animal Care.
The dog has deep painful wounds, but the Michigan Humane Society is hopeful he will make a full recovery.
MHS is asking anyone who has information on the attack to call the Michigan Humane Society Cruelty Hotline at 313-872-3401.
