(WXYZ) - Major League Baseball will announce the 2012 Cy Young Award winners Wednesday. 

Can Detroit Tigers pitcher Justin Verlander (17-8, 2.64 ERA) claim it for the second straight year for the American League?

Other finalists for the coveted award include Tampa Bay's David Price and Los Angeles' Jered Weaver.

Verlander led the league in strikeouts (239), complete games (6), innings pitched (238.1) and WAR.

He finished second in ERA, trailing David Price. 

The MLB will announce both the National League and American League winners at 6:17 p.m. on the MLB Network.
