EAST LANSING, Mich. (WXYZ) - Parents of a Michigan State Student are grieving the loss of their daughter, who they say was an exemplary student.
Michigan State University Police say the body of Olivia Nicole Pryor, 18, was found at South Hubbard Hall before 10:00 a.m. Monday. Her roommate found her unresponsive in their dorm room and called 9-1-1.
An autopsy will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death, but police say alcohol is believed to be a factor.
Greg Pryor, Olivia’s father, said his daughter never drank when she was in high school and was known to be studious. He tells Action News his daughter graduated summa cum laude from Detroit’s Martin Luther King Jr. High School in 2011.
The MSU freshman, he said, was excited to be at the university and was well-liked.
At this time funeral arrangements have not been finalized and the investigation into Pryor’s death continues.
