(WXYZ) - A confusing situation is developing in Boston where multiple media organizations had been reporting that officials had arrested a suspect in the Boston Marathon bombings.
However, it now appears as if no arrest has been made.
CNN, the Associated Press and Boston.com all reported that the suspect was in custody and due in federal court in Boston. WCVB-TV, the ABC affiliate in Boston, reported that the suspect was taken into custody Wednesday morning.
However, CNN and other media are now reporting that other sources are telling them that no suspect has been arrested. Boston Police also say a suspect has not been arrested.
The reported of the arrest cam after the Boston Globe, CNN and Boston.com reported a suspicious man was spotted on two video sources that were located near the site of the second bombing. CNN reported that those sources are a Boston TV station and a nearby Lord and Taylor department store.
All three news organizations reported that the video shows a suspect carrying and then placing a black bag at the scene of the second bomb.
A regular update from law enforcement that was scheduled for 1:00 pm has now been pushed back. It is now expected to take place at around 5:00 pm.
