(WXYZ) - An American journalist that had been working for a British newspaper was killed Wednesday when a shell hit a makeshift media center in the city of Homs in Syria.
Marie Colvin was originally from Oyster Bay, New York. The Associated Press reports that she had been a foreign correspondent for Britain’s Sunday Times for two decades.
A French journalist also died in the attack. Several others were also killed and wounded.
Just yesterday, more than a hundred people reportedly died in attacks across Syria.
