(WXYZ) - A judge has granted bond in the amount of $ 150K for George Zimmerman, the man charged with killing Florida teen Trayvon Martin.
The prosecution had asked that Zimmerman be held without bond or set a high bond of $1 million.
Zimmerman apologized to the family of Trayvon Martin prior to testifying in his bond hearing Friday. "I'm sorry for the loss of your son ... I did not know if he was armed."
The judge said Zimmerman would not be released today. Terms of his release are being worked out.
The judge told Zimmerman that he could not have any contact with the victim's family. He is also not allowed to possess any firearms, alcohol or controlled substances. Zimmerman will also be monitored by tether.
Zimmerman's wife, mother and father testified by phone in support of his release. George Zimmerman was wearing a protective cover over his nose, his face was swollen and he had two vertical gashes on his head the day after his altercation with Trayvon Martin, Zimmerman's father testified Friday in his son's bond hearing.

Zimmerman's attorney has asked that his client be allowed to leave the area because of concerns about his safety.
Zimmerman is charged with second-degree murder in the connection to February 26 th shooting death of Trayvon Martin.
He has claimed self-defense under Florida’s “stand your ground” law.
