(WXYZ) - Ndamukong Suh can add another local honor to his resume.
The Detroit Lions' defensive tackle has been named Grand Marshal of the Chevrolet Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix.
Among his duties as Grand Marshall, Suh will be required to tell the racers "Drivers, start your engines." He will also get to ride in the official pace car, a Chevrolet Camaro SS convertible.
In an article on the Grand Prix's official website Suh is quoted as saying, "It's an honor to be named Grand Marshal of the Chevrolet Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix. This is such a positive event for Detroit and I love racing so this is really going to be a special weekend. I can't wait."
The Grand Prix runs June 1 to 3 on Belle Isle.
