SILVER SPRING, MD. - A flash mob of nearly 50 shoplifters ransacked a 7-Eleven in Silver Spring, Maryland Saturday night.
According to police, the group was made up of teens and young adults who may have been attending a nearby birthday party. The shoplifters mostly took snacks and drinks. Most of them made no effort to conceal their identity.
The police department is releasing video of this mass theft and asking for the public's assistance in identifying the individuals involved in this incident.

Police stopped a group of six people. Each of them had items from the store but no receipts.
In August, a flash mob of teens entered a 7-Eleven in nearby Germantown, Maryland and stole several items without paying. The issue has since prompted the county to consider teen loitering legislation and a teen curfew.
An investigation is underway.
