(WXYZ) - New Baltimore police are searching for a hit-and-run driver. They received a 911 call around 1:45 Thursday morning. The caller said that a woman had just been hit by an SUV in the parking lot of the Imperial Gardens apartment complex off of 23 mile road.
Police say the victim is a 21-year-old New Baltimore woman.
They believe she was next to the passenger side of the SUV and may have been talking to someone inside it.
That's when investigators say the driver took off. We're told the victim was dragged a short distance and run over.
Police say she remains in serious condition in the hospital.
They don't know why the driver of the SUV took off, but they say it's possible drugs may have been involved.
At this point, investigators say they don't have any information that shows the victim knows the driver or that she was involved in any possible drug deal.
Police say there were two people in the dark-colored, four door SUV. It's possible the vehicle has damage to the passenger side.
