(WXYZ) - A new group on Facebook is doing their own recruiting for the new Detroit Police Chief—and they’re requesting General Colin Powell fill the role.
The community page is filled with pictures of the former United States Secretary of State and posts about leadership.
The page’s description reads: "The City of Detroit, its people, its employees and departments are suffering from a lack of leadership. We strongly believe Gen. Colin Powell can fill this gap and lead Detroit to glory again."
They say their mission is “to encourage Mayor Dave Bing to reach out to Gen. Colin Powell to be the City's next Chief of Police."
Chester Logan, a 38-year Detroit Police Department veteran, has become the department's interim chief after Ralph Godbee retired Monday amid a sex scandal.
